Many Salaams
ترمیمMany Salaams Hopefully I am getting through to the right person. My beef is with the enormous pile of misspelling i.e. mispronunciations we continue to inherit due to our own disability to shake away the colonial past. I do not know which lines have already been drawn. We must do our best to spell or say the names as the original speakers intend them to. The name of the
President of now deceased of Finland was Matti Ahtisaari not as written "ماری ایتی ساری". nor is correct to write * Al Gore = ایلگوری * Lech Walesa = لیخ فاوینسا * Guatemala = گوئٹے مالا
Let's assume this short list of typos sill suffice to illustrate the point . Won't it better that we approach the variations in cultures in their own way. Instead of imposing preconieved interpretations which we have come to believe is right. Once the people of Estonia very much are of the opinion that their
اسٹونیا not (ایستی ) country should be called Eesti
The capital تالنّناshould be called and not Tayline Obviously sauna should be ساؤنا not زاؤنا or سونا.
- سؤمیnot فنلینڈ
- سؤمی= فینیش بولی
If any corrections are applied, the pages get delinked. Cheers, anyway --Abikan (تبادلۂ خیال) 16:52, 17 مارچ 2015 (م ع و)
- Wasalam. I do understand your point, but as I am living in Finland, I do know the real pronunciation of
Martti Ahtisaari will be مرتی آہتی سآری. I don't see any need to write Finland as Suomi, because Finland is internationally accepted as well as recognised name for "Suomi" while no other country or language, in my knowledge, says Finland as Suomi. Same goes with Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Can you please be more accurate and give me some links from ur.wikiquote.org to show where these "mistakes" are located and what could be0 proper alternatives? Also please write all Urdu/Shahmukhi text and its Roman equivalent in different line, so to avoid confusion of RTL (Right To Left) and LTR (Left To Right). I want to thank you for your time and effort. I wish if you can make it a bit more precise, as RTL and LTR are really confusing me. --~
